QOC member Ryan Stasiowski shaved over two minutes off the previous course record at the Patuxent River Trail 10K race held March 2, finishing in 37:20. First female was Emily Ferguson, a three-peat runner at this race, who with a time of 45:13 set a PR. Full results posted here.

The World Orienteering Championships are underway in Lausanne, Switzerland, kicking off today with the sprint qualifications and finals. Ali Crocker (pictured, courtesy of Eddie Bergeron) qualified third in her heat and ended up 20th in the final - an excellent result! Competition continues tomorrow with long distance qualification and on Monday with middle distance qualification. Eddie, our neighbor from SVO, is slated to be in action in both of those so be sure to look in on the US team blog to see how he and his teammates are faring.

Many QOC members have our friends at Susquehanna Valley Orienteering to thank for a fine time at the apparently not unlucky 13th Susquehanna Stumble held at Elk Neck State Park this past Sunday. Notable QOC results include first and second in the long Stumble for Brian Mayer and Jon Torrance, Valerie Meyer and Heidi Onkst part of a three way tie for first female in the short Stumble, and Greg Lennon, Tom Nolan, Sam Listwak and Tom Wells taking second, third, fourth and sixth place among males in the short Stumble.
