LIVELOX is a GPS-based platform that lets you:

  • Upload your GPS track from a watch or phone.
  • Replay your race on the event map, step by step.
  • Compare your choices with friends and fellow competitors.

How does this compare to RouteGadget? Both let you compare routes, support GPS uploads and are web-based. So how do they differ? RouteGadget allows an orienteer to enter their route manually; LIVELOX doesn't support manual entry, but it does support importing from Garmin Connect or similar services. LIVELOX is a paid service (currently supported for US clubs by Orienteering USA); RouteGadget is free. RouteGadget data files are created and archived by QOC; LIVELOX is completely cloud-based and data files are owned by a Norwegian firm. RouteGadget is a free, open source web utility that has been in use since 2004, with a major revision released in 2014; LIVELOX is a commercial product that was released in 2014 initially as a service for real-time tracking.

QOC recommends using both! We know access to your RouteGadget entries will remain free, so we definitely recommend using it, but it's not that much extra work to add your routes to LIVELOX and some of its features are useful as well.
