On Sunday, April 10th we had amother great orienteering day at the Fountainhead West (FHW) area, with the start and finish at the Kegley House. The weather was mostly cloudy, breezy and cool, but later in the day the sun appeared occasionally to make it a beautiful day for orienteering. Aaron Linville designed a full set of courses on this hilly and interesting terrain and we were able to shuttle all participants between the parking at Bull Run Marina and Kegley House. Many, many thanks to the volunteers who made this event such a success - Harry Jones, John Cumings, Emma Hicks, Reiko and David Rager at the check-in and map distribution; Paul Hession, Scott Sharp, Beatri Bennett, Bill Vienna, Keg Good, Hugo Estrada and son, Jane Leggett, Kim Jepsen at parking and shuttle bus coordination; John Organek, Will Chesarek, Beatri Bennett, John Baker, Patrick Farley, Bill Wright who all went back out on the course to pick up the controls.
Thank you to Justin Green who shadowed Aaron and helped out wherever we needed an extra hand. And thank you Charles Carrick for organizing the shuttle buses and all the other details that makes the event run without a hitch.
