Another fun Bumble! Congrats to repeat winners Peggy Dickison (first female to finish) and Chris Gross (fastest runner on Blue, which includes all 5 windows) and to our first time winner, Max Ahmed (first male to finish). Despite the snow earlier in the week, 130 folks came out to enjoy the courses. After enjoying the woods, everyone had a great time sharing yummy food and conversation during the winter pot-luck and meeting. In addition to our drawing for QOC branded items and cool gear from REI, we had the chance to wish Alexis Merkova a happy birthday!

The day would not have been a success without the many volunteers who helped in myriad ways. We are deeply grateful and want to recognize these dedicated club members. Lacho and Iliana ran the first draft of the courses and provided great feedback during their January visit from Norway. Charles Carrick secured the map permit and use of Adventurelinks awesome lodge. Greg Lennon and Kathleen Lennon made sure the website and Facebook were up-to-date. Valerie Meyer printed the maps and manned e-punch registration with Amy Louden. Gary Smith, Scott Sharp, and Blaire Bingham kindly spent the morning putting water on the course and Gary and Ginny Quam helped set up for the event. Jane Leggett, Paul Collinson, Daniel Heimgartner, Sid Sachs, and Mark Lundblad handled registration while Matt Knight and Mark Thomsen helped new orienteers learn the basics. Louis Novak made sure everyone found parking, and Greg Lennon captured pictures of the mass start. Nicole Aleksieva and Samantha Ahmed used their creative talents to get food trays ready for the party, and Sarah Komm helped keep the pot-luck yummies organized. Control pick up went quickly and smoothly with the help of Chris Gross, Rick Oliver, John Organek, Patrick Farley, Gavin Weiss, Tavia Sullens, John Baker, Keg Good, Victor Lin and Greg Lennon. And with the assistance of Dasa Merkova, Michelle Svoboda, Kathleen Lennon, and Charles Carrick, among others, clean-up was a breeze. Again, many thanks to everyone.
