Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for volunteering at the Patapsco/Avalon Orienteering event today. It was cold, it was blustery and snowy, but you made it possible. Special thanks to Chris Gross for designing the courses and setting all of the controls early this morning, starting slightly before the break of dawn. Great job Chris !!
Thanks to Amy and Valerie for womaning the epunch operation for the entire chilly day. Amy's fudge and whole grain, chocolate chip cookie blocks were unbelievably delicious and helped us to shake off the chill.
Thanks to Harry Jones and John Landers for holding down the sign-in table and map distribution and I mean literally holding everything down from winds gusting at 30-40 mph right through the picnic shelter.
A big shout of appreciation to all of the hearty souls who stuck around at the end of the day and picked up the far flung controls scattered throughout the park, including: Jens Wira, Taylor Devlin, Moshe Miller, Kim Jepsen and Rob Fields. Thanks also to Sharmagh for arranging a gathering at Daniels Restaurant after the event. The food was good, the beer was hoppy and the company was delightful.
