The Patapsco Granite event turned out to be a success! There was a very solid attendance and it sounds like people enjoyed themselves. Thank you a ton, as usual, to Amy and Valerie for manning the epunches and for changing the code for one of the controls. On that note, thank you to Mike Dickey for letting me know about the missing control and about the slightly-off control. I really appreciate it! Also thank you to Jennifer for helping set up in the morning. I don't have her email but whoever does, if they could pass on my thanks, I'd appreciate it.
Thank you to those that helped pick up trash in the park. As orienteers, it's important for us to not leave anything behind after events, and after this one, we left the park better than before. Thanks to you all for making this park even more pleasant for other visitors and for future events.
Thank you to Ted Good for updating the trails and the green in the south of the map, without that the beginner courses would have been a lot more confusing for the beginners. Also thank you to my mom, Dasa, for being a great meet director and helping me hang controls. Also thank you to my dad, Jan, for hanging those far out controls.
Thank you to Iva and Lucka for helping out on registration. You were a huge help to have around! Thank you also to Greg Lennon for the help with registration and posting information on the website and to Craig Shelden for taking care of the administrative part. You were a huge help to make things run smoothly! And thank you to Mike Newman for getting the permit- without you the event literally couldn't have happened!
Also, last but not least, thank you to the control pickup group: Lucka, Michal, JP, Marie and her friend, and Miro. Thank you to Kim and Anne Jepsen for being willing to stay for pickup if we needed it! We ended up having more than enough people, but still, thank you for being willing.
Please let me know if I'm missing someone who helped out. Thank you a lot for everyone's help! The event ran so smoothly thanks to all of the volunteers.
