Course results can be seen below. Splits are available on Attackpoint or Winsplits.

Please note - on Green and Red, there was time deducted for crossing back and forth on a major road. Well, the software when you downloaded handles this very nicely...but, the QOC results page adds the time back in, as does WinSplits, AttackPoint, and RouteGadget.

So, in the interest of posting the results in a timely fashion, without the results person having to do a ton of back office manipulation, the posted results will be on gross time for Green and Red, not net time.

There are some slight place changes on Green, with places 2 & 3, 15 & 16, and 23 & 24 swapping places once the road crossing times were removed. On Red, it was just father and son, in places 14 & 15 swapping places in the official results.

Therefore, the times below for Green and Red are a little inflated for everyone, while the places are mostly correct. If you have questions or concerns, please email Valerie at vmeyer9086@aol.com. Thank you.

Reminder! Registration for the QOC's orienteering event on the Quantico Marine Base (Saturday) event, taking place two weekends away (Oct. 9), will open tomorrow, Monday Sept. 27, to give everyone time to register and understand the security/entry requirements.

Bright blue skies greeted over 200 orienteers at Cabin John Regional Park on Sunday. The park has become increasingly green over the years, but course designer Russ Damtoft did his best to keep participants clear of the worst areas.
Thanks to Sarah and Michelle Fish for getting up early to help with setup and to the many volunteers who efficiently helped get the runners out onto their courses. They included Dave Alexander, Rob Briber, Elliott Hamilton, Dave Gedney and his daughter, Dan Lathrop, Dina Beatty and her 2 kids, Ben Roberts, and Alex Tilsley.
Of course, the controls need to be picked up at the end of the day, and the crack team of John Cumings, John Whitty, Michael Dickey, Glen Pastel, Tom Nolan, and Adam Smith made quick work of it. Special mention goes to Rob Field, who also helped with the control pick up after finishing second on the Brown course after running the Parks Half Marathon in the morning!
As always, Amy and Valerie ran a seamless e-punch operation. We are so grateful for their tireless and willing volunteer spirit.
Thanks to Mike Kholodov for running the ARDF event and to Eugene Tsypnyatov for helping. Hopefully, we will be able to continue offering this alternative form of orienteering at selected events.
Finally, allow me to brag just a little bit. My granddaughter Evelyn Ann Fish participated in her first orienteering event at the tender age of 2-1/2 months. She went out on the White course with her mom, Erin Bzymek, while her dad Sean and pet dog Scherzer ran on Yellow. Congratulations to Evie!
