RouteGadget and WinSplits are now online for this event.
A surprising number of new faces appeared for this meet, especially children. This was due mainly because of the attendance by Brownie Troop #2891. Thankfully, at the end of the day everyone was accounted for and nobody reported any injuries! (Stinging nettles don't count.) And even with the average times for the White and Yellow courses being on the long side, there were plenty of smiling faces from the finishers. (Well okay, Mihai Sirbu wasn't pleased with the control marker on Green #13 hidden amongst a fallen tree.) Also smiling were the hordes of ticks as they gleefully latched onto passing orienteers. All participants should check your bodies for these critters. Several of them traveled home with us.The hilly terrain with soggy low lying areas added to the navigation challenge -- plus the relatively hot & humid weather -- but fortunately about 95% of the woods were quite open. When all factors are considered, the times for top half of the finishers on the advanced courses are quite commendable.
Thanks to the many helpers who greatly assisted us with running the event. Without you it wouldn't have happened.
