What a day we had at the Greenbelt Orienteering event! It was crazy windy, and we even caught a few snowflakes. But you know what? That didn't stop us from having an epic turnout with over 200 runners and a bunch of awesome volunteers who really stepped up to the plate. Huge shoutout to Mike and Russ for braving the storm the day before to set up the course. They were out there in the pouring rain on Saturday, getting controls in place for what turned out to be a challenging yet super fun course. Massive props to those two for their dedication. And a big thank you to Rob for waking up bright and early to meet us at the park and help with setup, especially with daylight savings time messing with everyone's sleep schedule. Valerie and Amy were absolute rockstars, keeping the e-punch station running smoothly throughout the event. Big thanks also go out to Tom, Dan, John, Ted, and Don for being amazing beginner instructors. You guys really made sure everyone felt welcome and ready to tackle the course. Suzanne, John, Harry, and Shirley, kept things running smoothly at the registration check-in table. Last but not least, a round of applause for the control pickup crew – Tom, Peggy, Ted, Sharma, Beatri, Mike, Victor, and Jared. They worked fast to get those controls picked up in no time. Overall, the Greenbelt Orienteering event was an absolute blast, thanks to all of you who pitched in and made it happen. Rain or shine, these dedicated volunteers all showed up and made it a day to remember. Can't wait till next time!
