Gambrill Rogaine

Thank you to all participants (runners, walkers, hikers, etc.) who came out despite the cold, damp, soggy weather. Even bigger thanks to everyone who helped to make this Rogaine happen. Michael Dickey created the maps, designed the course, placed all the controls, picked up many of them, scored the event and brought snacks and hot dogs for everyone. Joe Barrett, Howie Weinstein, and Rob Field also picked up controls after the event was over. Justin Levine stood in the rain for a couple hours directing people where to park and letting them know about how to pay the park entrance fee. Harry Jones checked people in and assigned start times for those too eager to wait for the mass start at 10 AM. Mike Newman helped behind the scenes to get permission from the park and rent the shelters, which we were very grateful to have considering the weather. Austere Medical Professionals were on site in case there were any serious injuries which thankfully there were not.
There were 70 registrations, of which 55 individuals or teams braved the elements to compete.
There were 10 controls that were just on the northern map, 7 controls that were on both maps, and 8 controls that were just on the southern map.
Just one person (Joe Barrett) cleared the course and found all the controls. Aside from Joe, there was also one team (Jens Wira & Jesse Tubb) that found all the controls on the northern map and all the controls that were on both maps. No one other than Joe found all the controls that were on the southern map.
All fifty-five teams or individuals found at least one control that was only on the southern map. Forty-nine of the teams or individuals found at least one control that was on both maps. Thirty-six teams or individuals found at least one control that was only on the northern map. Eight individuals or teams (including Joe) found more than half of the controls that were only on the northern map and another eight found exactly half of the controls that were only on the northern map.
