We had great weather, clear skies, and a bright moon for night orienteering. Many thanks to the Prince William Forest Park rangers for their support and for allowing us to use the Turkey Run Classroom for our registration and e-punch. Having the indoor light and shelter made a huge difference.

Vido designed a set of courses ranging from beginner to long advanced. We appreciated everyone arriving early enough to successfully complete their courses (even with the traffic delays on I-95). Participants enjoyed the puzzle of finding controls through the deadfall and reentrants. The terrain at PWFP is always a fun challenge, and we are lucky to get to use it!

Our events would not be possible without the support of our volunteers. This event was no exception. Many thanks to:

Charles Carrick for coordinating with the park service, securing the classroom, arriving early to help set up, and coming back early on Sunday morning to help with control pick-up.
Valerie Meyer and Sandy Fillebrown (from DVOA, who came down from PA) for printing/bagging/sealing maps and running epunch.
Amy Louden for baking treats for finishers and running epunch.
Harry Jones for reaching out well in advance to offer his services at registration. Harry is the friendly face who greets you, checks off your name, and gives you your map.
Scott Sharp for getting everyone parked, and entertaining orienteers along the way.
Mark Thomsen for also assisting with parking and for coming out early on Sunday to help with control pick up.
Chris Silva for beginner instruction and registration support.
Greg Lennon for keeping the event page and registration up to date, and staying on top of changes to the event start time.
Aaron Linville for helping with set up, decorating the finish control with lights, providing beginner instruction, closing epunch, and picking up controls.
Apologies for anyone who I missed. It really is the work of many volunteer hands that make our events possible. You are all appreciated!
