November 3
Sunday

Our neighboring club to the north, SVO, will be hosting this year's Mid-Atlantic Orienteering Championships at Pine Grove Furnace State Park (event webpage is here). The full set of classic courses (WYOBrGRB) will be available and in the afternoon there will be a club relay.

We hope to see all QOC members there!

QOC Needs You! The Mid-Atlantic Champs pit QOC against neighboring clubs DVOA and SVO, and all QOC members are encouraged to come help us defend the title! The club with the highest number of points overall, based on numerology involving placement in each classic course + participation + team relay results, wins the Broken Compass Award.

Relay Runners: Yes, of course we'll be putting together numerous QOC teams, and we'll post details on how to join one soon.

Ride The QOC Bus! For the convenience of club members, to get there we will once again charter a large bus, complete with WiFi, reclining seats and a restroom. This is a fun and relaxing way to get to this event and we highly encourage you to sign up using this link before 5pm Saturday (Nov. 2). There will be a nominal cost just like in the past; please make sure to register each person. We will be basing the meet up spots in Virginia and Maryland based on convenience to riders, but you can anticipate leaving around 7:30am and returning by 6pm.

Reminder: On Sunday, November 3 at 2 a.m., Daylight Saving Time ends, and all (non-automated) clocks should be moved back one hour. Don't show up one hour too early!

The key thing is to be there, whether you get there on your own, in a carpool, or on the bus. This is a fun day full of orienteering and we'd like you to be there!

Note: The registration location has now been determined (as of Sept. 24) and it will be the Fuller Lake Day Use Area, Pine Grove Furnace State Park.
