QOC Needs You! [Bus Sign-Up Now Closed] The Mid-Atlantic Champs pit QOC - now as the defending Champs! - against neighboring clubs DVOA and SVO, and all QOC members are encouraged to come help us defend our title! The club with the highest number of points overall, based on numerology involving placement in each classic course + participation + team relay results, wins the Broken Compass Award. This year the event will be hosted by SVO at Col. Denning State Park (northwest of Carlisle, PA). To learn more about this park, and the surrounding Tuscarora State Forest click here and here. Details of the event and courses are now available on the SVO schedule.

Oregon Ridge Relay Runners: Please email Jon Torrance ASAP (just click on his name) a note including your name, gender, age and usual course (yellow? red? etc) if you'd like to have fun as a relay runner AND let him know if you are getting to the event by means other than the bus - thanks!

Ride The QOC Bus! For the convenience of club members, to get there we'll be using several full-size buses (see below), complete with WiFi, DVD, reclining seats and restrooms. This is a fun and relaxing way to get to this event and we highly encourage you to sign up once registration opens. [There will be a nominal cost just like in the past.] We will be basing the meet up spots in Virginia and Maryland based on convenience to riders, but you can anticipate leaving around 7am and returning around 6pm.

Overnight Options: For those inclined to make a weekend of it, there are both camping and lodging options. Col. Denning State Park has rustic tent sites (map here; reservations here) but note the lack of showers or hot water; small game hunting is also likely on Saturday in the adjacent State Forest. Nearest lodging is in Carlisle, and as a reminder, the discount and "stay two, get one night free" offer through Orienteering USA (using code 00228560) when booking through ChoiceSportsTravel.com is available through Nov. 13.

The key thing is to be there, whether you get there on your own, in a carpool, or on the bus. This is a fun day full of orienteering and we'd like you to be there!
