It was soggy and muddy, but everyone appreciated the warmer temperature as they ventured into the woods to enjoy Michael Dickey’s courses. In addition to more than 100 starts on regular courses, many of our young QOC members came out early for training with Mid-Atlantic Junior Orienteering Team coach Boris Granovskiy. A bonus was having a roaring fire (thanks to Michael Dickey and the NJROTC cadets who got it started) to reduce the dampness in the pavilion.
The day would not have been possible without the wonderful support of many great volunteers. Tom Smerling, Doris Lee, Daniel Heimgartner, Stephanie Coffin and Mike Lieder helped set up and manage registration. Jen Werner and Don Fish provided instruction for first-timers. Amy Louden and Valerie Meyer (with the help of Barney) oversaw e-punching. And Chris Gross, Ted Good, Sam Listwak, Dan Quinn, Barry Noble and Cathy Hovis joined Michael Dickey to
