There it was: the penultimate event of the season is now history. But it went well. Even the weather played along with the unusual setup of two different maps. Together with the shuttle to the remote start, it made a long walk to the mapped area of western Fountainhead unnecessary. This "virtual" map exchange may have been a little bit confusing at first, but in the end everybody figured it out and made it back to the Bull Run Marina parking area. Altogether, about 130 persons participated in our event.
I want to say thank you to Keg Good (absent due to attending her daughter's graduation), the course setter for intermediate and advanced levels. I also want to say thanks to all the volunteers, who made the event possible: Sara Komm, Helen Doherty and Petya Aleksieva at the Registration; Andrew Komm, Dennis Doherty and Jim Chaplin at the Beginner Instruction; and last but not least, the control hangers before the meet Paul Hession and Valerie Meyer, and the control pick up crew after the meet, including Anne and Kim Jepsen, Vido Aleksiev, Bill Wright, Mark Hicks, Jon Torrance, and John Baker; and the shuttle bus drivers.
